Red Mountain Park is excited to welcome ten volunteers from around the country to the second annual Volunteer Vacation. The volunteers will work with the park’s staff from Sunday, March 18-Friday, March 23 to make improvements to the Eastern Trails System. Many of Birmingham’s local restaurants and top tourism spots have signed on to entertain the visitors during their down time.

The American Hiking Society’s Volunteer Vacations are trail stewardship projects on America’s public lands. Volunteer Vacation is in its fourth decade of service and offers over 70 projects across the country. This is the second time a project has been featured in the state of Alabama.

We are looking forward to having all of our wonderful volunteers visit the Park! A special thanks to you all, for your time and interest in Red Mountain Park. We are confident this will be a great week, and cannot wait to get started. Our volunteers are:

Brian Merrill- Depew, NY.

Carl and Deborah Kowalewski- Grand Rapids, MI.

Murphy and Michael MacDonald- Oldsmar, FL.

Michelle Richardson- Easthampton, MA.
