Red Mountain Park Celebration Set for This Tuesday Evening (October 30th)

To celebrate the recent closing on the Red Mountain Park Land--yes, it is now in the hands of the Park Commission--an open gathering is set for 5:30pm at the B & A Warehouse in downtown Birmingham. Entertainment will be provided by two super local bands, Three on a String and Act of Congress, and there will be plenty of after-work food and beverages. Alabama Power Pledges Support for City Parks
The Alabama Power Foundation announced Friday that it plans a $500,000 contribution to the three greenspace project in the Birmingham Area. Red Mountain Park will receive $175,000, the Railroad Reservation Park will receive $225,000 and Ruffner Nature Preserve will receive the remaining $50,000. We applaud Alabama Power for this bold statement and hope this serves to excite other companies in the city to help our local park development. Read the full article >
