Alabama House Bill 707 on Senate Calendar for 4/17
Last week HB 707 was approved by the full House and then made it out of the Senate Finance & Taxation Committee to a spot on the Special Order Calendar. However, the Senate adjourned abruptly on April 6th pending further clarification over issues surrounding an unrelated bill. This action shortened the legislative session by almost a day.
Therefore, there is only one day remaining in the legislative session to pass House Bill 707—Tuesday, April 17th. The bill has been slated to come up for a vote, but there are plenty of other bills on the slate and not a lot of time for consideration.
Encouraging your senators to pass House Bill 707 will insure that the tens of millions of dollars pledged to the project are not forfeited. This bill, which is revenue neutral for the state, will create a state amenity that should generate millions of dollars in tax revenue while improving the quality of life of Alabama's citizens.
