Alabama House Bill 707 Up for Vote Tomorrow (3/30)

As mentioned in our Newsletter last week, Alabama House Bill 707 moved out of the Government Finance and Appropriations Committee and is now up for consideration by the full House. We have just learned that the bill will be voted on tomorrow. The bill seeks to create the Red Mountain Greenway and Recreational Area Commission, a 13-member board appointed by various entities that would own and manage the Red Mountain Park property. Creating this state commission would give Red Mountain Park the regional significance it deserves and access to funding sources available only to state agencies.

At this point, a quick email addressed to your local House representative would help show your excitement and support for this measure. Since Jefferson and Shelby Counties alone are divided into about 20 districts, make sure to confirm your specific state representatives by searching by zip code here.

Thanks for your support,
