Park Funding Measure Placed on Commission Ballot
As mentioned in our newsletter yesterday, the Jefferson County Commission met on Thursday, November 3rd to weigh support for a funding proposition for Red Mountain Park. We are happy to report that the Commission has decided to add the measure to its voting agenda for the next meeting scheduled on Tuesday, November 8th (read News story). If you have a moment to write any of the Commissioners or time to attend the meeting and show your support, those efforts would be greatly appreciated. As is evident from the comments of Commissioner Bettye Fine Collins in the News story, a unanimous vote is not assured, so we may be able to make a difference.
The Tuesday meeting will take place at 10am in the Jefferson County Courthouse, 2nd floor Commission Chambers (see map). I have listed the commissioners and their emails below if you want to tell them how much we appreciate this potential gift and what great sense it makes for our city.
