Adventure Guides

Role and Responsibilities

Adventure Guides have a tremendous responsibility on their shoulders to ensure that all guests have an incredible and safe experience.  Adventure Guides provide orientation for guests and guide them through various zip line tours and treetop canopy adventures while providing a safe, enjoyable and engaging experience.

  • Monitor guests, equipment and course
  • Ability to comply with Park safety rules and policies
  • Ability to operate professionally at all times
  • Work to ensure that the Adventure Area is clean at all times
  • Meet and greet Red Mountain Park guests
  • Maintain a good sense of humor and cooperative attitude in dealing with all guests
  • Treat guests with respect, so they will know they are valued and cared for
  • Instruct guests in gearing-up, safety orientation and ground school
  • Maintain proficiency with guiding participants safely through every element of the Adventure Area
  • Keep informed on Park attractions, events and history
  • Responsible for personal safety and safety of others
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Flexible work schedule to include weekends, nights and holidays
  • Minimum Education: high school diploma/GED
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated, strong communication skills
  • Must be a team player with a “Can-Do” attitude, and willing to assist in all areas of Park operations
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced outdoor environment in various weather and temperature scenarios
  • Demonstrate responsible, reliable, punctual and commitment to job
  • Excited about engaging people and sharing the wonder of Red Mountain Park
  • Family friendly, pleasant and courteous in all interactions with Park guests
  • Must be punctual and utilize time efficiently
  • Must be comfortable talking to groups
  • Flexible schedule (regular evening, weekend and holiday work expected)
  • Must be physically fit, able to lift 50 pounds, and able to hike, climb, rappel and work at heights in excess of 50 feet above ground level
  • Must successfully complete guide training, including written and assessment tests
  • Able to make risk management decisions
  • Must complete or have a current First Aid and CPR Certificate (classes may be available for those without current certifications

Reservationist

Role and Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to interact with Park guests and ensure they have a great experience when reserving Red Mountain Park Adventure Tours.  The person is also responsible for responding to guest calls or inquiries about Adventure reservations, to provide information and reserve tour times for guests coming to the Park.  The Reservations Agent will continue the arrival experience by ensuring clear communication with guests, obtaining necessary information and providing tour information.  Agents will be well versed in promotions, events, pricing, and sales strategy to meet the guest’s requests.

  • Answer incoming calls and assist with reservations, confirmations, special requests and questions
  • Ability to operate a multi-line phone system and answer incoming calls within 3 rings with appropriate greeting
  • Explain Park policies, services and other information about Red Mountain Park as requested
  • Sell, process, enter and confirm tour reservations using selling techniques and strategies
  • Maintain knowledge of current Park events, activities, and hours of operation
  • Greet guests warmly and perform reservation procedures
  • Provide guests with appropriate Park information and walking directions while up-selling when appropriate
  • Verify payment for Adventure Activities
  • Assist guests with issues and complaints, with empathy and a focus on guest satisfaction
  • Answer incoming calls within 3 rings with appropriate greeting
  • Maintain accurate phone call and email logs
  • Accurate accounting of cash bank assigned to each agent
  • Post charges to guest reservations as designated
  • Provide accurate statements and ensure guest satisfaction and collection of all payments due
  • Other duties as assigned
