About Us

This site has been put together by an unaffiliated group of folks who are united in thinking that Red Mountain Park would be a win-win situation for all of us in Birmingham. We hope to bring all interested voices to the table both to help secure the funds necessary to get this deal done, and to bring together surrounding neighborhoods by developing a master plan that best suits all who would benefit from its use.

Bobby Humphrey, Friend of RMP

We count among our numbers state legislators and soccer moms, business executives and frisbee golfers, conservationists and weekend warriors, residents from both nearby neighborhoods and extended suburbs. We are even lucky enough to have Alabama All-American, NFL standout, and former Steeldogs' coach, Mr. Bobby Humphrey, as one of our members and supporters. Mr. Humphrey, who also serves on the President’s Advisory Board of the Black Warrior - Cahaba Rivers Land Trust, has been a wonderful ambassador for our group and a unifying voice for the city of Birmingham. We are very thankful for his support.

Currently, we are just a handful of volunteers and enthusiasts. We hope, with your help, soon to number many more. If you are not yet a member of our mailing list, please join and be counted. If you have joined already, we thank you. And if there are any other questions you have about Red Mountain Park or feedback for this site, please email us.

We hope to invite input from individuals as well as all groups which represent potential users, contributors and enthusiasts for a recreational, historical and natural park facility. Help us build a list of targeted organizations to extend our own reach.
